Cloth Diaper Thoughts

You may think I'm crazy for using cloth diapers, or at least crazy for wanting to tell you about them, but these are not the cloth diapers our parents used on us!! There are sooooo many wonderful new diapering products out there. Trust me, you will save money by buying cloth instead of disposables, and they are reusable so you aren't filling up the landfill with untreated waste and chemical filled diapers. My favorites? Hands down, BumGenius 3.0 One-Size diapers by CottonBabies. I cannot say enough good things about these diapers. They are awesome because they are adjustable to fit a newborn to toddler (meaning you only have to buy one size of diaper!!) They are a "pocket" style diaper and come with 2 different inserts to adjust absorbency. I use them on my 2 year old heavy wetter at nap time and night with both inserts and it holds up great! I use the same dipes on my 5 month old with just the larger insert. The great thing is, when my 2 year old is fully potty trained, I can use those same diapers for my little girl! They remain one of the trimmest fitting cloth diapers on the market, and you do not need to size up clothing to make these work for your child. I have not had any blowouts or leaks with these diapers and they keep my babes dry as can be. They are soft and waterproof and wash up great! They also come in white and a bunch of cute solid colors. I love coordinating my daughter's dresses with cute pink or yellow diapers. You can also use these as a great swim diaper (without stuffing with the inserts)! And the best part is . . . you can resell them to recoup some of your cost when you are done if you take care of them properly. Stay tuned to hear more about where to buy and sell cloth diapers, some fancy versions of cloth diapers, and neat care tricks.
